[delayed & formatting eaten by Majordomo: nonmember submission] Having been on both sides, from a RR commanders perspective, of this = discussion. I can tell you this can be a devisive subject. Satan would = love to distract us from our real purpose by any means available, and = sometimes those means can be mislead church leadership. One church I attended the uth pastor told me point blank that he = considered rangers to be nothing more than a "babysitting service" but = assured me that if any boys wished to continue in rangers they could. = The following week this same uth pastor dropped the age limit to 10 on = the youth service and later started actively recruiting RR's and = Missionettes after the wednesday evening service. All three ministries = were devastated by this course of action. Attendance in RR, Missionettes = and uth dropped to half their previous levels in three months time. I = realize there is a attitude out there that says "church leadership can = do anything they want", but the question should be "should I do anything = I want or should I work out a church building compromise." Where I presently attend church the uth minister has taken the RR LTC = course and is the outpost chaplain. Uth meetings are on thursday nights, = with a uth bible study on wednesday nights for those uth who do wish to = attend RRs or missionettes. The core of the uth group are the boys and = girls that are active in RRs and missionettes. An unusuall but extremely = workable compromise. Keep up the faith and pray overtime for those pastors and uth = ministers who lack the vision to see what these three ministries can do = when working together. _______ To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe rangernet" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Eat the hay & spit out the sticks! - A#1's mule" RTKB&G4JC! http://rangernet.org Autoresponder: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
