True, we are commanded to preach the Gospel to all nations; however, we are
not to "turn them off" with persistent badgering. There are two key
biblical principles that should guide how we witnessing, they are:
Principle #1 - Know your audience. If your presentation is not going well,
shift gears and try another way. This is shown in I Corinthians 9:22 where
Paul says, "To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all
things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some."
Principle #2 - Respect your audience. Don't badger them, don't talk down to
them. Peter says in I Peter 3:15 that we are to "always be prepared to give
an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you
have" but to do it "with gentleness and respect."
