*Bridgeing the Royal Gorge- ----------------------------- *I was showing my Challengers a video, about the giagantic suck-hole of the Arkansaw River as it flows under the Royal Gorge bridge, in Colorado ...a raft full of paddlers went over 'that falls.. into the hole and the back flow kept them in a whirllpool.... several were "blown out" of the raft and as the river current swept them away... they struggled to keep their feet pointed down river.. *Above was the Royal Gorge suspention bridge- the "highest bridge" in the World.. Tourists stood and watched from high above... *There..but too hight to assist.. An on-going topic among Rangernet is the subject of *program vs. *ministry... I see this subjest..as the river.. rolling down hill to the plains, and as it covers rocks.. the river lifts to form cararacts and rapids, requireing great skill to navigate. We haven't yet 'figgered it out".. I'm Trained as a Royal Ranger Commander and as a Boy Scout Leader.. In attending NTC I returned with great passion for makeing the *program come alive in the boys thru use of the "patrol"... The resources I found were slim.. and shortly I was led to visit a Boy Scout troop.. where my son *Josh (FCF Buckskin- GMA) and I *-=A=- (LTC-NTC-FCF Wilderness) *joined BSA Scouts<G> Many of my "criptic" posts about the patrol and boy leadership, have been fed by membership in the Troop... where you may find in *fact "the perfect outpost" They have the "Program down pat!" *Boys compete for advancement and boys lead boys to the trail to Eagle Scout and citizenship...they go places do things and have Character by the truck load... *But back on the stormy river of life we have my on-going Op207 and Op354 and the look from my view is that... "we've hit a giant suck-hole and had most of the crew blown out- and needing rescue!" In Royal Rangers we find a *spritual resolve and fellowship based on our doctrinal faith the Jesus heals! Jesus Saves! and Jesus is comming again! and has left for us the comfoter in the person of the *Holy Spirit.. Boys get saved and Commanders get blessed at every powwow! *But as a "program.. we stink!" *Above this- are you the readers of Rangernet.. able to "see' but not throw a rope or participate futher than yelling into the chasum or remaining silent. *Why... are these two great resources not linked by a "bridge"?
