*I'm working on some final stuff to bring in for sign-off on
Trailblazer first class,
and advanced camping so *I'll be ready to go FCF this spring...
(*a year ago the childrens pastor decided to stop the
pioneer/trailblazer
program our our former church, Justin is one of the stranded
trailblazers
who remained but attended Dist. Powwow'99 with our new outpost accross
town)
*One thing tho- How do I build a "reflector oven"- the picture I see
shows a store bought
metal thing.. and I'm doing all this by myself... I have an old
adventure in camping
you gave me...and I read it all the time.. it's good. I like this
stuff<G> The Commander
at powwow took away my knife, even tho I had my cut and chop card...
like some
boy would use it as a wepon! *Hey that would be wrong! ...Rangers isn't
like that!
...you allways told us that to be a Ranger, you followed the Ranger
Code..
(*when we left we respecfully disagreed with the decision to stop the
older group..
Our Commanders had formed a "patrol" of leadership, used common logic
and
democratic decision makeing, and "pastor" found it hard to deal with...)
*You know... I was reading some old Handouts you gave us- and there
was a cartoon character that looked like you... telling me you wanted
"me" to tell you
about cool places or events that we could go as a group...
*i found this park, not so far away, just up the "gorge"----
(*columbia river gorge cuts through the cascade Mt's)
and it is soooo great! We could like... ride bikes to get there.. and
it's real green and cool..
There's a big creek that runs down to a pool. *It would be so great to
camp there..
...then the boys could do the cooking and get signed off for
advancements, and later
we could build a campfire and do skits and yells<G>
(Justin was famious for bringing all his gear in a garbage bag and a
big-BIG sleeping bag
that would un-roll all the time<G> He allways wore camo-flauge BDU's on
camp trips with
a pistol belt load of utility tools and sport bottles... *Justin loves
to camp... We camped
in winter with the Tipi and woodheater and that night Justin came up
with his version
of the Ranger emblem.. 4 red strings of lick'rish... 4 Gold butterfinger
bars and 8 blue
bottles of blueberry sport drink<G> *But what we remember best is his
chuckle!)
*Hey Cdr.Duane-
I got a sewing machine from my Grandma for christmas... *Is there
anything I can build for
my FCF outfit? ...can I start now so I'll be sure to be ready by
summmer? *Oh- and can I sell
rabbit pelts on trader's row with you? I have this one with a hole in
it.. probly where the bunny was
shot with an arrow... *can I get extra money in fcf for that? I'll
probly need a shirt.. I know yours
has tiny flowers on it.. but that remeinds me of my Grandma's dresses..
so can I wear a solid color?

*If you think I'm ready mayby I can come to the meeting way over
there... what do you think?

JUSTIN RASH is a fine young man and a *Excellent Royal Ranger... I would
be proud-
to recomend him for membership in the Frontiesman Camping Fellowship...
*and when
the phone call was over.. I had to go out to look at the full moon, and
smile<G>
*Just when you feel lower than the rudder on a wale... a spark of life
arrives and snap you back!
