Subject: *Make the GMA Understandible-[RR] New program

*We have a new GMA in the house and so I'm up to speed on
what you say here.. The GMA is a tuff up-hill climb.

Josh found that accomplishing the standard track to Trailblazer's
top award left the remaining requirements *Extra tough... He knew
going in to the Gold Track (*following the demise of the old system)
..that they had broken up the GMA stuff into smaller chunks..

.and chose the standard track anyway. He would
have prefered the GMA to be at the end of the trail instead of the
"Gold Hawk"

*All this is just a matter of presentation and promotion of the award..
so in the new program *IF some of the redundency is eliminated, and
the requirements honed down to scale for understandibility... I think
not only will we have more GMA's but the award will gain in "value"
among the boys.. *They want it if they understand hoiw to achieve it!

IN BSA Scouts the trail is clear and understandible to the boy and the adult..
for the Eagle award- 21 merits- a "service project" and proven roles in
leadership.

That makes everyone in the troop aware of what is needed next for a "Life scout"
or a "Star Scout"... If we in RR had that awareness it would fuel encouragement
and support.
