I'm setting here with an old Hallicrafter S-120 Short Wave receiver,
fiddling
with the knobs and controls... I picked it up cheap at lunch, down at
the junk store
because no one knows what it really is<G>

This radio can receive messages from FAR AWAY!

Right now however it just sounds like a cat that got caught in the lawn
mower<G>

It needs an antenna and a clear signal, and that mostly happens late at
night when
the Sun don't mess with the waves of energy that circle the earth and
are received
by this cool gadget!

This radio sometimes speaks a different language than the one I
understand!
I've heard Spanish,French, Russian and lots that I just don't know<G>
..like mayby Larrikan?

*Sometimes it don't speak any language but a CODE...

I've turned it on and received music! and sometimes I get a solid
clicking beep to
give me the *exact time from far away Hawaii! *Can you believe that!

"Messages" can be sent across the far Pacific Ocean, or from any
direction to me
if I tune my amazing radio to the right place! I used to listen to
Radio Moscow
and the news from the BBC!

Sometimes the "news" is not the same as what they show on the TV at
night!
...cool! I get to listen to other peoples "perspective" and sometimes
it's
compelling and understandible<G> ...I'm going to need to look at a Atlas
just to
find out where all these places are in the world..

These radio messages are telling me that my town is a part of a region,
a
country and a hemisphere! THIS IS POWERFULL!

*I just wish I could... Talk into a microphone, and direct it to my
friends
around the world who know about Royal Rangers! What a great thing..

We share a "Code" and have many ideas and good times <G>

(I wonder what it would be like....)
