When I attended the two presentations for the new ranger program, I
heard
both times that "changes are comming" and what has been our
understanding
of our *Program/*Ministry must amend to the new format...

When I "hear" from the field that "It isn't broke- so don't fix it" I
return to the
reasoning presented the executive from the pastoral committe, for more
"team"
spirit. Team spirit would be that we want to work side by side with
others,
and show them real value in our Ranger ministry, by produceing positives

for a better church family, *and I hope for a better life for the boys!

*Let's think about the boys....

If we developed a planed meeting- the direction of the outpost could
become
understandible, and in turn.. easier for the boys to facilitate and
participate in.

The task of Commander could shift to administration and counciling, and
we might attract more new blood as Adult leaders from the "parent
patrol"

Everyboy deserves a "Trained Leader"... and that implies that the
"training"
reflects a change in attitude from "whatever happens" to useing real
training to
impliment the *Plan.... and move to the goal of the *Mission statement
in
a organized fashion!

*If "Leadership is the act of developing MORALE" ...then I see that the
new
program will lead us to a more united effort of understanding, and away
from
the discomfort of not knowing what we are going to do tonight at
RoyalRangers!

*About Ranger Traditions-

I have a personal stake in this subject.
I don't think we have done so well in protecting the traditions, and
remembering
the reasons for why things are the way they are. Much of this is because
we
invested in a "personality based" adult core, and not in the individual
Ranger boy
and his... (*The youngbucks) experiance.

Rangers has a very strong base of Fellowship among the Adult leaders,
*But
wouldn't it be so much better if that *spirit was evident in our Ranger
youth?

How can we do that?

*We.. re-new-re-fit-re-view and re-cycle<G>

Raise the standard of MORALE!
Be a Leader- walk the Wilderness to a new land!
