Ideals- The ideals of Royal Rangers are spelled out in the Ranger pledge, the CODE and meaning of the emblem and the motto. Each Ranger measures himself against these ideals and tries to improve, with God's help. The goals must be high, for in striving for something greater, a boy becomes who he will be. Patrols- The effective use of the Patrol gives each ranger an experience in group living and direct social interaction. It requires democracy and that makes for better citizenship. It should put a certain amount of responsibility on the shoulders of the ranger and teaches boys to accept that responsibility. The patrol is a small group experience and allows a place for easy relationships to grow. Outdoors- Royal Rangers works best outdoors where through adventures we grow in fellowship. It's here that the program is applied to the real world. It might be camping- it might be service- but Rangers do it outdoors! Being close to nature helps the Ranger to gain appreciation for God's handiwork and mankind's place in it. The Outdoors becomes a laboratory for the practice of conservation and understanding of our environment. Advancement- the advancement trail provides a series of surmountable obstacles and steps to overcome them in an organized fashion. The Ranger is rewarded and acknowledged for his advancement and that helps to build self confidence in his growing abilities. Growing further and advancing farther helps the Ranger to become self-reliant and minister to others. -- ࡱ _______ To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe rangernet" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Eat the hay & spit out the sticks! - A#1's mule" RTKB&G4JC! http://rangernet.org Autoresponder: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
