All,
End the ugly beard contest if you must. I am at a disadvantage since my work
involves fiberglass insulation, and occasionally asbestos, OSHA requires that
I keep a "clean" face for proper respirator fit. So........ the beard that
Duane saw me with at Campo' was merely a week's worth of rebellion ;-)
However, I must protest the awarding of a mere point for my ponytail!
To wit: A couple of weeks back we had a visiting minister at our church by the
name of Rob Schenk. He is head of Operation Save Our Nation - ministering to
the leaders on Capitol Hill. Lot of powerful testimonies there. Maybe I can
share later.
But I digress..........That particular Sunday morning I chose to wear my
brand-new "blue hoop-t-do blazer" complete with medals and Training Chief
Teepees, yadda,yadda,yadda.
Rev. Schenk gets up and as he stands at the podium, he says," I know I am in a
church on the "cutting edge' of the move of God when I can look on the front
row and see the Royal Ranger Sr. Cdr. in a dress blazer and sporting a
ponytail!"
So there you have it..........I think being on the "cutting edge" merits some
considerasthun (oops, sorry for the spelling. Hard to talk when your tongue is
planted firmly in your cheek <VBG>)
PS : for those who wonder what it means to have "the glory head" go to the
Wilderness Survival site (our outpost home page) and click on "Our Staff"
hint: wear shades
PPS: for those like John and Rick who have tired of the Ugly beard how about
the "Ugly Head?"
