To my beloved rangernet brethren, I want to share a letter I e-mailed to
my son in college. God place on my heart to share this with you all. He
wants to challenge you fathers out there. I believe many of you are
struggling to be the man God wants you to be.

To my beloved son, Tim,

This morning I've been sewing away as I listen to a praise cd tape. The
songs on it are anointing from God to help you bring you into worship of
God. I also have been praying.

I want to share with you something from my heart. I want to share with
you some of my failures. And some things that I hope that is going on in
your spiritual journey. So please do not delete this. Or skim through,
but read through pray fully. You can even print this, if like. And you
have my permission to share it.

What does it take to be a successful man of God.

1. Pastor Charlie and Promise Keepers have been preaching accountability.
Do you belong to a small group of young men on campus? Where you get
together to pour your heart and pray together. Where each of you are
challenging each to have a deeper relationship with God. This is needed.
We can not do it alone. We need to call a close male Christian friend at
times. Why? To build each other up. Sometimes we need to just talk.
And when it is their turn, just to listen to them. To cry with and to be
joyful with.

2. We must have a quiet time with God. That requires time. It is
daily.

3. At all times to be connected to a church. Not a church where it is a
social club. But one where the pastor is on fire for God. He has deep
relationship with God. He is not afraid to preach a message that will
convict, but also to build. Also be involved with an on fire Sunday
school class.

4. Need to have a worship time where the song leaders are lead by God.
That they are servants to lead the church into the throne room of God.

5. A hunger for the things of God.

6. To be a servant of the Most High God.

7. To learn to listen God

8. To hear the cries of the lost.

9. To go where God will lead you

10. As God brings a young woman into your life. Are you willing to
protect her. Are you willing to build that relationship on Jesus. Is
Jesus the center of that relationship? If Jesus is the center. Are you
willing to ask her where she stands in Christ? Are you willing to share
what God has placed on your heart(a teaching, devotional, or the
anointing God has place on your life)? Are you willing to pray together?
Are you willing to study the bible together? Plus have fun together and
with other friends. You do not own her or she you.

Finally, I want to share with you what these means to me. I want you
to know that I have been forgiven. That there is no condemnation in
Christ Jesus for those who love him. That God has given me the grace to
go through these trials. That I know that He loves me. He is strong
when I am weak. My soul longs for a deep relation with Him.

Tim, as your dad and brother in Christ. I want you be a successful man
of God. I want you to look to me as example even in my failures. Take a
look at my failures and not feel sorry. But ask God to give you the
grace and His Spirit to go through life.

There is a lot of what "ifs". I can not go back and change them. But you
can learn from them.

Tim, when I got saved. I did not know how to have a relationship of a
man and woman built on God's Word. I did not know what love was. I did
not know how to love God or respond to His call. I did not know how to
how to have a family time with God with out preaching. I place some of
the blame on from going to a disfunction church for 12 years and myself.

I preached on the streets of Syracuse to thousands. I lead bible
studies. Shared God's Word in prison, work, and to the sick. I was an
usher, board member, Sunday School teacher, and Royal Ranger commander.
But I had a hard time with sharing my faith with my family.

Tim, I love you very much. I challenge you to be the man of God; God
wants you to be.

love dad

Brothers, this day while Kathie is taking Beckie back to college. I've
been listening to a cd. It is Hosanna music. The title of it is "Shout
to the Lord" 2000 with Hillsong music Australia. The anointing of God's
Holy Spirit is very heavy. God is here. I've been and is being touched by
God.

God not only wants us to have a right relationship with Him. But with
our wives and children. You can be called the coolest commander with in
your outpost, section, district, or nation. But these boys do not see
you everyday. Your children do. As they go off to leave the nest.
Where does that leave you with your wife?

I thank God for the thorn that God has given me. At first it hurt. I
cried a lot and questioned God why. Now, I do not cry or complain as
much. I cherish that thorn. God has used it for His good for me to be a
better man of God. Even Kathie likes what she sees. Have I arrived yet?
No, but God has forgiven me. That it is only through His grace that I
am saved.

you fellow servant in Christ,
rick/eagle feather
