... we had fun! Congratulations to Jonathan, the Buckaroo with the fastest car (not counting commanders)! Congratulations also to Scott, the Pioneer with the neatest looking car (not counting commanders)! Actually, Scott's "car" was a battleship, complete with little wooden gun turrets. That battleship was also fast, winning first place in race for the Pioneer class. Some of the commanders really got into it, too. The first place for show was a scale model of a Woody antique car, complete with steering wheel and a surfboard on the roof. My rolling Bible did pretty well, too, beating out commander Ken's dynamite stick. (Commander Ken beat my car last year with a compass.) Of course, the Word of God is quick and active... <grin> Our children's pastor helped out this year, with some testimonies and fun stuff between heats. Thank you, Pastor Donnie! Praise the Lord for the Dads we saw in church for the Pinewood Derby that don't come otherwise! May God call to mind the friendly and loving people at church and plant a desire for them to come back for the Easter production and the regular services.
