Commander,

I enjoyed your post, your dedication and your perspective. I salute those
who hold the trenches each and every week, and am sorry there is no way on
this earth to give them proper credit and appreciation. The light shines in
the corner where the most noise is made.

> For me, it is giving back what was given to me. Rangers is the reason why
I am still serving the Lord. I was well provided for growing up and had a
strong family support, but the area I grew up in would be considered in the
ranges of middle to very low income. Where my grandma lives, gunshots
were(still are) very common at night. Gangs were very prevelent, in fact
some of my cousins were in very tough gangs. Along with my family, Rangers
provided the nurturing environment that I needed to stay out of trouble.
Even as I drifted away from the Lord during my college years, there are
things that I did not get involed with because of the strong teachings that
I was taught in Rangers. I am still involed in the same outpost today(going
on 21 years). Praise goes to the Lord.

> The city I grew up in is worse. More guns are found on campuses of the
schools. The drugs are worse. Death of a young person is a every day
reality. I want to be there to throw out the net to save some of these
young men from the same fate as people I knew did. I am proud of the boys I
work with. Their world is harder than mine was, yet they try very hard to
live by the Code. They are the most polite in the church. They are always
willing to help out. Not because of me, but the strong foundations that
Rangers is built on. With God's help, I can only pray that I provide them
enough of this foundation and make a difference in their lives. Their every
day reality needs to be the Love of God and the Salvation of Christ. Thats
why I am here. 100%
