Brother, after five years of trying many different approaches, the following
is what we have come up with. We have been raising money to purchase uniforms
by a monthly donut sale at church. We get the donuts for 1.40 a dozen at a
local shop and sell for 3.00. Many people give donations as well. One man
buys a couple of boxes for 50.00. He has done that about 4 times. We sell
about 50 boxes each time.
This is in a handout we use.
Dress Code:
Dress code is desired for all meetings and activities unless otherwise stated
by the
Commander. The dress code for Pioneers and Trailblazers is:
Warm weather months:
(Field uniform) Ranger T-shirt, blue jeans or fatigues (late May through late
September)
See the Commander for ordering information
Cold weather months:
Long sleeve khaki shirt, khaki pants, with belt and bolo tie and appropriate
shoes and
headgear (class B)
When in the uniform, it should be clean and pressed. Patches should be sewn
on in the
proper place. Guidelines are in the Pioneer handbook pages. 97-104, and the
Trailblazer
handbook, pages. 103-107.
Uniform purchase plan:
New Uniform policy: Uniform Purchase / Trade-in Plan:
It is called the Uniform Purchase / Trade-in Plan. When a boy first needs a
uniform, he
can see if we have a used one. If we do, he will be assigned that one for no
charge. If we
need to order a new one, he will only be charged half price. When he outgrows
it, he can
trade it in for another used one at no charge or for another new one at half
price.
Parents, for this plan to work, we need your help. When your son outgrows a
uniform or leaves Rangers it is important that it is turned in. Whenever any
uniform is in
need of repair, please do so quickly to keep the damage minimal.
