Dear all.
Greetings in Jesus' name.
I asked one of our Lt. Commanders to write this report for you all to share in the blessings.
On Friday the 26th of February 1999, Commanders Richard, Phillipa, Yvie, Nathan, Norm, Tony and myself and about 50 Pioneer Boys and Girls left after a night of Royal Rangers for the combined Garden City Outpost Pioneer Girls and Boys camp. For the enlightenment of Commander Norm and Yvie, the Pioneer girls were feeling cheerful and tested the strength and endurance of their vocal cords ALL the way to Camp Hebron during the bus ride. I never heard how the atmosphere in the boys bus was but I’m sure Commander Nathan and ?? enjoyed it thoroughly as well¢

We arrived at the camp site at approximately 11:00 and as this was my first time on a Royal Rangers camp I was surprised to hear some of the kids talking about going to sleep! Everyone tested out the toilets and then pretty much went to bed. We all arose early in the morning to begin the days activities.

The whole weekend was primarily for badge work such as fire craft, first-aid, rope craft, cooking over an open fire, hygiene.

Some highlights of the camp were the Council Fire on the Saturday night, where we cooked marshmallows and Richard told the legendary story about the Sasquatch while Tony did an expanded re-enactment of what he felt the sasquatch was. This sent the Pioneer Boys running off after him into the moonlight, following his moaning for the rest of the evening.

A swim at Somerset Dam was the last activity to tire out everybody before driving back home to meet the awaiting parents. The kids had enjoyed themselves and were all safe and unharmed¢

Sheryn Ryan.
