*Nothing is standardized in OP207<G>

I use the same book we used in 1964<G> ...the Golden Book of Camping!

(It's designed for boys to read and understand.. and I back it with
Adventures in Camping.. the Ranger Store course and NTC/JLTC and BSA
Scout resources<G>)

I allso let the issue and instruction of the Cut and Chop be the job
of Sr.Guide and his staff... The boys seem real interested in a
cut and chop card..

I'd like this intrest to back the GOLD-BAR Staff's authority...

*any safety infraction should be treated as an on-going review class
for toolcraft safety.. for *Being safe... is the goal IMHO and not
being subjected to humiation or embareassment...

Bad situations can be avoided by removeing the tool from camp...
*mainly removeing an axe.. and encourageing use of a bow-saw.
*I bann all sheath knives-bowies-pig stickers and bayonets<G>
ALL Double edged knives will be confiscated period...

*I do encourage multi-tools and the boys to "aquire a stave" and
clean it with their tool...(whittle on it safely) in their spare time,
but any "staves-staff's or sticks" raised as a wepon witll be taken..
broken and burned in the fire.<G>

One last thing...
----------------

I USED to give a boy a pocketknife... as a gift. *Now I do not.
