*i'm showing my Pioneers the sport of rock climbing with a Video
of some special climbing rocks in Joshua Tree Nat'l monument, Calif.

The camground at Jumbo Rocks is *HEAVEN to rock climbers!
Even as a kid I could "smeer" foot to some incredible vistas and find
secret trails back down!

Behind every bolder was a imagined Apache and on top a Cowboy with a
Colt Peacemaker!

Bang!BANG! shoot 'em up!<G>
=======================

..and then the call to dinner, campfire and devotions and turn into
my sagging puptent and my "vintage" green cotton bag with
jumping deer on warm red flannel!

AH! DEAMLAND......Good Times!

Commander's Devotion stuck with me.. *He warned that the "Mojave Green
Ratt'ler" liked to sun thenselves on rock all around... and that
all day we made a playground out of ROCK WALLS!

*To most everyone else that isn't on the campout... makeing a playground
out of rock walls seems farfetched! But in this special place a boy with
cheap "PF Flyers" could become SPIDERMAN! and allways.. thru time, and
the winter freezeing process cracks would form and experianced climbers
would use special tools to jam bolts, and wedges and "cams" and mayby
even a "piton" or two... to make the summit! Rock climbers have to be
READY! and they carry all the gear they need... they use every advantage
of the ROCK and the MAN to gain a foothold or a grip... they carry rosin,
to make themselves "sticky" and plenny of rope.

AND WHAT SEEMED an IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGE BECOMES A SPORT!
========================================================

*I remembered that... along with the barked up shins from slideing down
that rock wall a time or two!

*I think with prayer, and meditation... WALLS MIGHT FALL
or we may just climb right over 'em!
