The American Bible Society has declared 1999 as the "Year of the Bible".

Their goal is to encourage one billion people worldwide to invest just
"5
minutes a day" in reading through the entire New Testament during 1999.

The Assemblies of God Executive Presbytery has accepted the
recommendation of
the American Bible Society to endorse and proclaim throughout the
Fellowship
1999 as "The Year of the Bible."

The Royal Rangers ministry is supporting the "Year of the Bible" with
its own
emphasis called "New Testament 2000." As does the American Bible
Society,
the Royal Rangers desires to encourage participants to invest 5 minutes
a day
during 1999 in reading the entire New Testament.

To answer your question more directly, I believe that it is necessary to
read
through the New Testament during 1999 in order to earn the NT2000 pin.
I
know I am going to do it - and I have previously read through the entire

Bible a number of times.
