Me, too... but when I took my PC ahead to February 2038, there were some
problems.

I got a flyer about Y2K from a Christian Ministry I never heard of before
in my home town in today's snail mail. They explained that ALL the
computers would malfunction on 1/1/2000, resulting in loss of essential
basic services, including sewage treatment. I am getting pretty tired of
such blatant ignorance. Worse yet, I believe the association of such panic
hype with Christianity brings dishonor to Jesus Christ. Contrary to the
panic and hype, very few computers will fail to work, and only a small
fraction of computer programs will malfunction at 1/1/2000. I also have it
on very good authority that gravity will continue to work next year, so our
water and sewer systems are safe.

Don't get me wrong, there are problems (lots and lots of little ones) that
will cost some time and money to fix (either before 1/1/2000 or after), and
that will need to be dealt with. Many of those have already been dealt
with. My point is just that we aren't to be afraid of the unknown, but to
prepare intelligently where appropriate and trust God.

This, indeed, is the biggest real threat to the banking system. Any bank in
the USA can be ready for 2000, but a bank run could close any bank.

Of course, that is a simple identity expressing the same number in binary,
octal, decimal, and hexadecimal.
