Part of the rules of model rocketry is to stay with in the guidelines of
the kit. Experimenting with model rockets can be very dangerous. Play
it safe and buy a kit. They only cost a few dollars..is it really worth
the chance if one of your boys does it wrong and it hits someone. You
will be responsible so use good wisdom.
We built rocket kits 2 years ago. The boys loved them and then we had a
shoot off day with 2 launchers and 40 boys. The kits cost between 3 - 5
dollars. We assembled them as a unit. Step by step.
Went over rocket safety and earned part one of the rocket merit. Some of
the boys went on to build bigger rockets and did complete the merit.
It is a great time.

p.s. All this from a guy who shoots off a cannon on campouts...GRIN!
Make it safe!
