-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It has come to my attention that yet another email virus warning is circulating around email and usenet circles. This one is different, though, because it checks out as real (see the URL's below). In general, to get a virus in your computer, you have to run a program containing the virus. This can be done by executing an attached executable or by opening a document in a program that has a strong macro language (like Microsoft Word). I generally open Word documents with macros disabled, and am more likely to delete an executable program that someone sends me than to run it. Sometimes I get daring and run something after scanning it for virii, but only if I know where it came from. It turns out this precaution is justified. Some warped person has written a "worm" program called Happy99.exe that displays some fireworks to entertain you while it modifies your system to send copies of itself to any email or usenet posting you send, without you knowing it did that. Therefore, if you get a message with Happy99.exe attached, chances are the person who sent it to you didn't know they did that. Just delete the message (it can't hurt your system if you don't run the attachment), and warn whoever sent it to you that they need to disinfect their system.
