Hi to all of you on rangernet!

For 1/2 year I havent been on rangernet, but now youve got me back.
(cheer)
For anyone, who doesnt remember me:
My names Harry Trautmann, Snr Cmdr in the German OP 78 Moetzingen.
Currently Im attending a school for computer sciences, and thats
the (main) reason, why I couldnt stay on rangernet.
Glad to be back to the cyber-campfire.

To anyone interested about this Microsoft-story:
Today I read a revealing article about MS collecting private-sphere
information via GUIDs. A GUID (Globally Unique Identificator) is a
number, that indeed is unique in the world.
Apparently MS used the windows (98) registry to store such a number
for every user that was logged into the system. The informations, that
were gathered by this number for example were the users login name,
system-configuration, installed HW and documents created by the user.
The problem is, that this GUID also is included in each document created
by the user. So every document can be tracked down to its
creator.

Harry Trautmann,
