for Pioneers - AST'S. I taught the Nature course. For boys who did not
preregister for the merit courses, they attended other "brief" seminars on

The weather was unseasonably cold, but one could hardly cancel a Nature
class due to the weather. I had 7 boys who broke themselves up into 2
patrols....The CRAWLERS and The HUNTERS. I scouted out the trails they would
take, provided field note books/pencils, and plenty of other research
materials. I think the most significant discovery made was that in our
temperate rain forest, there are things that can only live here and no where
else. We as humans are mobile, and can choose where we want to live, but the
Douglas Fir and Western Hemlock are somewhat restricted as to where they can
exist. God has placed things of nature in specific areas whether it be on
earth in the waters or the heavens...some of these can only survive in One
area. God has given us "choice" and we must choose wisely where we will go,
what we will do, and who we will be. God has given us charge over the things
of earth and we must be good stewards of his ecology. Therefore I think
twice before complaining about the weather and where I live, for it is
paradise to those things God has purposely placed here.

God does give us a choice.
And when we choose His will, that is where He can make us grow.
So many of us go where we think God wants us but we are plants out of place.
Oswald Chambers said that God plants us by His storms. He plants us where
only we can grow. We send our roots down deep into Him as the wind of His
Spirit blows.
It may appear as adverse circumstances, but those circumstances force us to
send the roots deeper and wider which in turn enables us to stand even
stronger, bearing fruit and making shade for those who need both.
That IS paradise!!
