Sunday we had an enchilada fund raiser (everything made from scratch boy are
CMDR Ivy's wife & I tired!) it was successful. Then Sunday night we had our
first awards ceremony.
We had the boys march in while we were on stage, then we had a candle
lighting ceremony one for each of the blue points which each boy explained.
It was very quiet we had their attention.
Then Dewayne Ivy said a few words about how this was a lot for a boy to live
up to and then he explained to everyone just exactly what these boys had to
do. (This alone may cause them to realize that we are not a baby-sitting
service.)
Then I explained how RR has changed my heart towards children, then called
the SAs forward by their Indian names in sign language, let them explain
their names and gave them their awards. They said their pledge and I was so
proud I thought I was going to end up in front of the church balling my eyes
out.
Then Chris called up the Bucks and they were so serious and proud, trying so
hard to be still. Chris read the passage about the definition of a boy. It
got even quieter.
Finally Dewayne called forward his Pioneers but not till after he went into
more detail about their accomplishments. And how he had 2 boys interested in
the GMA and what that was.
I am so proud of these boys and how our Commander Team is coming together.
this week all but one boy ordered uniforms, and God gave us a definite new
Commander; Tim Morris is his name and I would like you to pray for him. We
have a maybe from another man his name is Jeff Miller Please pray for him
also.
There is a new excitement coming across when the CMDRs get together after
meetings. Our 5 man council is coming together. And we are going to start
having a CMDR fellowship planning meeting (including our families) once a
month. Please pray that these meeting are productive fun and most
importantly blessed.
We are finally truly becoming an OUTPOST. God is blessing us and we are
praying that it keeps coming.
