You know,
We've hashed around and hashed around ideas to get boys to wear their
uniforms.
Let me tell you what happened tonight.
We've just moved into new facilities, actually we bought a church from a
Baptist congregation that had moved into new facilities.
We've got more room(s) and hallways than you can shake a stick at. I'm still
finding 'em.
Anyway, we, the Rangers, have our OWN area. No sharing with any other
ministry. Free to decorate our rooms Ranger style.
My supply officer was unpacking the Ranger Store tonight and came upon a box
of old
"fore and aft" caps (also called "garrison" caps, I think).
The pioneers went nuts!!
They walked right by the stack of pretty blue RR berets and begged and begged
to wear those little caps. They didn't care if they were blue Commander caps
or khaki Ranger caps, they had to have one.
'Course, 'ol Commander Gary had to show them how to wear it at a jaunty slant
cocked to one side.
But they loved it.
Didn't even bother them that the Missionettes were calling them "canoe heads."
Go figure
