Below is the text of a message I have sent to the public relations
department of Carls Junior restaurants. If you have not seen their newest
advertisement, let me tell you that it is one that not only condones lying,
but advocates violence. If you have seen this advertisement and feel the
same way, you might like to contact them through their web page
http://www.carlsjr.com/ or e-mail at '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'.

I was surprised and very taken aback by the most recent advertisement for
your establishment, Carls Jr.

The advertisement I am referring to is where a man is late
getting home, and to give him a cover story (lie), his "friend" punches him
in the face. This commercial shows the condoning of violence and lying to
prevent telling a spouse the truth about where you have been.

As a husband and parent, I can find NO excuse for this kind of advertising.

As an additional point, since the beginning of the "if it's
not all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face" campaign, I have not
patronized any Carls Jr. establishment. Previously, this has been the fast
food restaurant of choice for my family, but as long as this advertisement
campaign continues, I will not patronize your campaign.

If public relations is not the appropriate department for
this message, please forward it to the responsible person. I would
appreciate hearing from an official of the company within the next few days.
Additionally, this advertisement will be discussed on a national e-mail
group "Rangernet", where I will encourage others to protest this
unacceptable advertisement campaign.
