*As some of Y'all know, or figgerd.. 'some of the shine fell off my Sr.Cdr. Bars recently.. As this has un-folded... it has shaken our strong "leader corp" and put the future of the Outpost in the hands of the master Ranger... *But also... It called me back to the Bible, and *prayer and trust in the Lord for guidence.. 3 three small things I noticed: 1.I mean what I say, and back it...I'll pay the price. 2. I "found" a bag full of un-counted toys to hand-out to the boys, and passed them out untill I had one boy and one toy left! *Just e'nuff! ...just enough. 3. last night I handed out a flyer for RangerCamp/Powwow and rewarded the boys with a small bag of "woppers" if they showed me a folded letter stuck in a hip pocket! *Again it went down to the last bag and 5 boys.. *These last 5 were my "back row" boys and I had ONE BAG! I ripped it open and told them to "stick out yur toungs.." and fed each a candy with a blessing: "In the name of Jesus!" "Father,son..HolyGhost!" "...Name of Jesus!" ect. *Like a communion.. Last boy- last wopper.... "Jes' enough" *We had a new boy come last night, and his dad dropped him off enquireing what class he should go... I hadn't spoken with this man much before but seen him in the after church heard... *but my "spirit" spoke outloud: "Brother, God is sending you to talk with me about this Outpost and it's future..." He looked a little shocked.. "Oh? Are you needing leaders or something.. I can pray, but I'm working to re-build the Men's Ministry here, and yur name is?" (I beamed<G>) *I'm Cdr.Duane of Royal Rangers... and we are here to lift up you as our *Ministry is tied by tradition and honor... *he looked a little puzzled.... (I was wearing a hat with a fish go'n thru it..red suspenders over a Ranger T-shirt and BDU britches) ------------------------------ I explained we were a Assembly of God church and Rangers was the official boys program, developed under Men's Ministry and now called HonorBound Men of promise... *and right here is a newsletter from the Dist. office that shows the resources and officres of the men's group as well as events they sponser for Royal Rangers.... *he became interested... ----------------------- "*So Royal rangers is a Christian Boy Scout group?" (-=A=- went on 'jes a bit...*U kin 'magine..) We'll perhaps that makes sence...however If we were a scout troop, we'd have a troop committe, a parent committe and a *sponser... someone to "shine for" and be accountible too.. *All that exsists in our organizational training called the LTC (*gave him a copy/outdated Leaderhandbook ect) and the sponsering group is the Men's group of our Church. We leaders have completed that course, and even teach it.. so it's no surprise that it hold common ground and unity in our fellowship. The involvement of the Men of this church is needed by *both our ministries.. He stood.. we looked back.. ..and suddenly we bagan to PRAY in a circle, and I poured out my heart to God... I prayed that God be served and blessings on the Church the pastors and the men..as well as RoyalRangers... We are to become bridgebuilders *not bridge burners! More later...
