All:
I just got a letter from a boy I had in Royal Rangers 16 year ago. It
turns out he has spent the last couple of years in prison and is
scheduled to get out in a few months. When I first heard about this a
few weeks ago I wrote him a letter to encourage him in the Lord and to
tell him I would remember him when I pray. I wasn't sure how he would
react to my letter because I had completely lost touch with him over the
many years and didn't know what was in his heart. Anyway, in the letter
which he wrote back to me he said how well he remembered the times we
had in church and that he now had three sons of his own. He wrote "I
have three boys that I love a lot and I want to make a life for them and
the only way is to get into church and bring them up trusting in God. My
oldest boy is four and my middle boy is two and my youngest is two. So I
have a great responsibility when I get out. So when you pray please pray
for my boys and for me that I can be the best dad I can be."

I guess we never know how long it may take seeds to sprout after they
are sown but I really felt from the Lord that there were some seeds from
somewhere growing/grown in his heart. If Royal Rangers had anything to
do with the wonderful attitude which he now seems to have which he
shared with me in his letter, so much the better. If you feel impressed
to pray for him and his boys, please do.

I just wanted to share this with everyone. Rangernet is a wonderful
blessing to me but, I am ashamed to say, I rarely post.

God bless, Les Hamlin
