Spirit Rider,

One point to make about your site selection, under a tree can be
dangerous in warm weather too. High winds can cause tree limbs to fall,
possibly hitting your tent and maybe with you in it :-(

Also, if lightning hits the tree it could have the same consequenses.

Best not to be under the trees if possible, wet or dry.
