Here's a devotion that worked well for our Pioneers. You might like to try it.

You'll need a bar of chocolate & some Blu-Tack.

Before the meeting starts, whilst the room is empty, stick the bar of chocolate to the ceiling so that even if they stand on a chiar the rangers cannot reach it.

After the devotion has started with prayer explain that you have a free gift that anyone can have. All they have to do is claim it.

After several claims have been made, tell them where the gift is.

When the protests have died away, explain that it is easy to recieve the gift once the way has been found.

The only way that a ranger can receive the gift is for a commander to lift them up to it.

After the gift has been retrieved explain the spiritual significance.

Spiritual Significance.

The chocolate represents Salvation, Just as the ranger cannot reach the gift by him/herself, so sinful man cannot obtain Salvation on their own. When the commander lifts the ranger up to the gift it represents that when a person trusts Jesus in repentance of sin, Jesus lifts them up before His Father in Heaven, for forgiveness and that is the only way to receive Salvation.
