Silly Rangers.
I think folks are busy with Pow Wows, camps, Euro camp, etc. or maybe just
the heat. Of course here in the Pacific NW, our summer is akin to Victor's
winter in Oz. But I am not complaining, for if I were, you'd correct me.
Reminds me of a joke..........
There was a man longing to know to "meaning of life" and so sought out a
monastery to get in touch with himself and God. The monestary life was VERY
strict however. To discover the meaning of life would mean a definite change
of lifestyle that this man was accustomed to. But he was determined to go
through with anything. One of the strict rules, was that the man could only
speak once a year and only then could he speak but 2 words.
The first year passed and when it came time for the man to express his
"great thoughts", they asked him to tell of his experiences for the first
year, in which he replied: "BAD FOOD". They next year passed with much
sacrifice and solitude and when it came time to share his experiences of the
2nd year he said, "HARD BED". The third year was no different than the first
two and when it came time to express his heart he yelled: " I QUIT! " With
that the Monks replied, ' Well it's no wonder, you've done nothing but
complain since you've been here!"
