*Out of the happenstance of life..

I started to read a anthology of of the Beach Boys Rock group and
the early 60's surf culture...

How this relates to RRangers is the era of the development of our
fellowship and the pull of popular culture on the boys of '62!

I know something about that<G> and can see the smile on Cdr.Hanks Face!

The "Beach Boys" were the "wilson bro's" of Hawthorn,Calif. and right in
tune with the times! *What time was it??

*without a doubt it was "Time to hit the beach" and do it with style..
laying as much rubber as possible before your adoring friends..

*Imagine- in 1963 having a Ranger Lt.Cdr. come to the meeting with a
new Chevy Super Sport 2 door running a 4 speed and a 409ci V-8! ..and
out of it's Radio came.. "I'm save'n up my nickels and save'n up my
dimes to: Buy-buy-buy a 409.. noth'n can beat her- nothing's can touch
my 409-409!"

*Imagine another Lt.Cdr. arrive on a Triumph Bonnevile, and "tach it up-
and "wheelie" accross the church parking lot! <G>

*Then.. arriving late was a third Lt.Cdr. in a 46' ford woody<G>

So! forgive me my remembrances of "warm sunshine and friends when the
beach was the place to go..."

We might just have to: "Get together and do it again!<G>

Surf's up!
