Dear Rangers I have just finished watching "Prince of Egypt" and the thought occurred to me how closely Moses and Jesus lives paralleled each other. In Exodus 1 we read the account of Moses life. The King decreed that all male babies be killed. Herod did the same thing when Jesus was born. Both grow up away from their people. At the start of their ministry they were both in the wilderness. Both faced stiff opposition. Both held fast to their faith and God. Both delivered people from slavery into freedom. Moses by taking the Hebrews into the Promised Land (even though he did not pass into the land himself) and Jesus delivered us from the slavery of sin and the law. My conclusion is that Moses was a foretaste of what our Lord had in store for the whole world through His son. Just as Adam and Eve stood between the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and choose the later, we stand between the same two trees. Is our choice to choose from which tree we eat. For me, I choose the tree of life and grows by the river. A wise man once said "The difference between a well and a river is that a well will support your immediate needs while a river will feed a Nation." We are all called to be like Moses, to set the captives free and show them where the river of life is. Through Jesus' death and resurrection we are called to proclaim His love to all. It is up to us to reach out and show Christ to a dying world. Who will join me at the "River of Life" taking buckets full into a world that is on the brink of disaster? It is up to us to show Christ to the world.. Are YOU ready? There's a storm coming, our Storm. PROCLAIMING GOD'S LOVE TO A DYING WORLD Say to the captives, 'come out,' and those in darkness, 'Be free!' Isaiah 49:9 I looked to the heavens to where God dwells I looked into my life to see he lives there as well.
