Dear Rangernet:

I had just wanted to share something with all of you (you lurkers too) I
had got an e-mail today from a brother of whom came to us from across the
seas. He was primarily looking to just make some friends and that he has.
He has us. I would believe that it is fairly safe to say that we (As Ranger
Cdrs) are mostly subscribed to this mailing list because we want to learn new
things and make a difference at our local outposts. Sometimes we can tend to
get a little off topic at times, but we are here for the same reasons.
From time to time we learn about the Ministry of the Royal Rangers in
other lands and the different cultural adaptations that need to made in order
to make the program more accessible to the children there. Most of us are
primarily English speakers, though some of us may be fluent in others and the
language barrier tends to pop up. It would be difficult for us to learn
about Royal Rangers from some of the 64 countries that we have representation
in because we don't know their language or customs or cultural experiences.
We are a diverse bunch, especially if we like crazy things like grits and
vegimite, but because of interests like these, the Americans have learned
about the Australians and the Australians have learned about the Americans to
the point of where we can sit back and smile about it. :-)
We take our diversified backgrounds and share them with people that we
probably will never even get to meet in our lifetimes in person. We then
take their experiences and add them to our own and that becomes who we are.
Our Brother from the Puerto Rico District came to us, just looking to make
some friends because out there in the Atlantic Ocean, they have more
hurricanes than they do Rangers, so it can seem at times. Our Brother never
had expressed that he had a need of being able to communicate the Royal
Rangers to the Children that he has been blessed with, but the Lord works in
awesome ways that we will never comprehend no matter what language we speak.
(Make sure that we pray for them)
I had been doing some work with some guys from my Section who spoke Spanish
and one brother was having some trouble translating. I knew of some
resources that were able to help with the Spanish part. I personally, am not
fluent in Spanish, though some may think I am, but I'm not. In Spanish the
Royal Rangers are called "Exploradores Del Rey" or translated "Explorers of
the King" The information that I have and I want to share this with all who
would ever need it, to help with the Royal Rangers in Spanish is produced by
a company called RDM. RDM was contracted by National Office to have the
materials put into Spanish. They are not a part of GPH and GPH doesn't have
a way to order the stuff through them. If you find that Spanish material
would be useful in your outpost, please contact them at
