Hello All,

My outpost as many of you already know is fairly new, Since my joining it, we
have been to 2 pow-wows and have made many advancements. Presently we are
just all about 5 Pioneers, but October is going to be a month of change. One
of my Pioneers will become a Trailblazer, his birthday is at the end of the
month and that is when I plan on holding our first Council of Achievement at
our church since 1988. Our church is somewhat unique in that our Youth group
meets on Mondays instead of Wednesdays, so tomorrow night I will be taking
the news to the Youth Group that they can still meet for Youth and be a part
of Rangers too. In our church, we have not had the manpower to hold any of
the older than Pioneers groups. This has been the norm for some time now, the
Youth didn't know that Rangers even had older groups, but what a pleasant
surprise that they will be in for. There are just some things that you can
do with Trailblazers and Challengers that you can't do with Pioneers.
One of my big activities that I will be making an effort on is to have our
outpost march in the local Christmas Parades, we will have one roll through
Dumfries, and likely one on the Marine Corps Base, so I am going to see what
will be better suited for us and we will spread the word about Royal Rangers
just by being in the Parade.
For the Local parade, I will likely hold a fundraising/recruitment campaign
at the end when we get to where the parade terminates, by selling hot dogs
and soda. Winter is usually pretty mild here, last year it was 80 degrees on
parade day. My plan is to share about the Lord and sell a hot dog or two or
three or four and something to wash it down with, but it will promote the
Rangers and prayerfully cause us to grow.
Our church is building a new building and we will be able to accommodate
larger numbers of folks there. I'm pretty excited about it, my pastor likes
the idea as it also promotes a community spirit by taking interest in the are
that we live in. That is our mission field. Anyway, I had just wanted to
share.
