I know this sounds dumb but hey I've been there before.
A young lady in my office Mandy (we've prayed for her when she lost her baby)
is asking me questions about the Holy ghost and speaking in tongues. She has
asked me to spend some time with her this evening to explain it to her and to
help her study it in her Bible.
Her curiosity is from other conversations we've had and she now say's she
doesn't feel right about going to her Baptist Church and is curious about the
AG church.
Well, I told her what I could immediately think of off the top of my head,
but I would like to better prepared for this evening. I can't believe it but
the Lord is giving me a chance after almost two years to be a witness here.
What I am asking for is scripture reference or personal understanding of the
purpose, and of course prayer that the Lord would help me to give or show her
what she needs.
I have already explained that He is our Comforter, that speaking in tongues
for the uplifting of the Body and the individual that is praying, that satan
cannot understand us when we speak in tongues and that speaking in tongues
can compel those that are on the boarder of making a decision for Christ to
indeed make that decision.
But she seems to want more. I have our company's Bible to use but as silly
as it sounds I am not familiar with it as I am my paperback NIV.
