These are some of the things I've learned this year:

I've learned that enthusiasm doesn't make up for knowledge...
...that passion doesn't replace training

I've learned that wishing doesn't cut it...
...that good intentions won't change the world

I've learned that "I'll help out" won't replace "I'm committed"...
...that near enough is not good enough

I've learned that skills won't replace courage...
...that duty doesn't replace compassion

I've learned that beggars can be choosers...
...that second best is often not worth having

I've learned that the paddling a sinking canoe isn't much fun...
...that being in the will of God is

I've learned that there are few who are trustworthy...
...that I need to depend on God more than ever

I've realised that I have grown a lot this year...
...but have much more growing to do

Your humble servant,

I see a Ranger program in every town in this country. An outpost in every
suburb. I see a program so pervasive that every child in this nation will
either be a Royal Ranger or know someone who is a Royal Ranger.
