Dear Friends,

A friend of mine sent me this. I am passing this along to you all.

The Lord reigns.
Where does he rule?
Over whom does he have dominion?
Over me?
Over you?
Over my friends?
Over my enemies?

He is clothed. He is not naked as we are. He will never be naked
because he
clothes himself. And what is the clothing he wears that we can see? It
is the clothing of strength and majesty.

But where does he reign? Where is his dominion?

He established the world. But what world? The word means not just the
earth,
but that which inhabits the earth. Surely one can rule over nature, but
how can he
rule over all peoples, especially when not everyone bows the knee?

We know the habitation of earth will last forever, even though the earth
passes
away and is recreated as a new earth along with a new heaven. The
habitation of
earth is everlasting because he went to prepare a dwelling for those who
would
receive him. There is also a place of everlasting habitation for those
who did not.

His throne, his dominion has been established a long time ago. Nothing
can
change that. It was from the beginning before anything else once. It
began from
everlasting, so how can anything change it? Yes there are floods of
mighty waters
that roar and lift themselves up and threaten to overwhelm that
habitation. They make
a noise. You can hear it. The boat rocks; it pitches and yaws.

But guess what? It is the Lord who stands in the boat. Why are you
afraid? He can
calm the waves. He is mightier than the waves. His word speaks louder
than the
sound of their roaring. His words are be still, and all is quiet.
His words are true like
a perfect arrow that always hits the very center of the target. His
house is a house of
holiness forever.

Give me holiness, Lord, that I may dwell in your presence forever. You
are Lord over
me, and over all that I perceive as problems. Help me surrender my life,
my thoughts
and my days to you, to the one who is clothed in majesty, to the one who
is strong,
to the one who rules over all. I cannot do it on my own.

Jesus is in the boat.

God Bless,
John
