1. Skin the critter :-)

2. Freeze or salt the hide.

3. Unfreeze or rinse off the hide when you are ready to work on it.

4. Buy a book for the rest of the instructions <VBG> to much to post.

i.e. if you want to brain tan your hide I recommend getting the book
"Deerskins into Buckskins" by Matt Richards. If you want to chrome tan
then you will need to buy the chemicals necessary to do so. Check a
search on the net for tanning companies.
