I have taken the used Tuna Fish cans and coiled up card board into the can and cut it a little below the rim and then poured the wax in until it was about 1/16 below the cardboard. Once that is done I take the lid and place it back on the top. that keeps the dirt out and once they are all cooled they are ready to go. When I use them to start a fire they work well and they can be flattened down after the fire is put out.
