Our thinking on end times should not be so focused on details concerning the
antichrist, the mark of the beast, '666', one world government and the like.
Today's awareness has been especially enhanced by Christian authors writing
books like "The Visitation" or the "Left Behind" series, as well as all the
over-sensationalized and often misinterpreted end times prophecy related
programming on 'Christian' radio and television.
The end times are about Jesus returning, not the antichrist arising. It's
about the second coming of our Lord Jesus, not about the coming havoc wreaked
through natural disasters. It's about Him coming back for us his bride to
take us to our wedding to Him! It's about God's grace to humanity in one
last chance for mankind to repent and turn to Him. Our eyes must be looking
for our Redeemer much more than what circumstances are congealing together to
solidfy the new world order.
We must be 'ready' with our lamps filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit,
like the wise virgins of the New Testament. We need to see that time is
getting short and that God may be bringing this age to a close and that we
need to reach out to the unsaved (esp. our Ranger boys) with ever increasing
fervency and concern for their souls before we go (either by our death or by
rapture).
Yes, the last part of the age of God's grace may be upon us, and prophetic
indications may now be placed there by our Lord to help us know the season of
His return. "Let us work hard while it is still day, for the night is coming
when no man can work." God is graciously allowing more time for people to
turn in repentence to Him. I hope He continues to allow more time for people
to turn to Him. It's unfortunate that a message promoted about the end times
has more attraction than one on winning our lost neighbor for Christ.
I am so longing for the lover of my soul to come get me and take me home with
Him! My eyes are looking for Him to come, not the antichrist. When these
end time things begin to occur, they tell us that Jesus about to snatch us
away! May the Master find you and me working in the harvest field when He
comes back from His trip.
