hello friends,
i'm typing with one finger as both my hands are bandaged. last night
the kids had their school christmas play
and many of the children were dressed up like sheep. their costumes
were cotton glued to fabric to fit the entire
body. as the kids came marching in one of the kids brushed up against a
candle. in a matter of seconds her
whole body and costume just ignited. she started to panic and run
around. but as she did she ran into the other
kids dressed like sheep and set them ablaze. i couldn't believe what
was happening in a matter of seconds. i
tackled the first girl and others, praise god, started to roll her
around and beat out the flames. it was so hot and
her whole body was one big flame. later i found her skin on my
clothes. as i rolled over her another small boy, a
missionary kid about 5 years old, came running by me headed out the
door. fortunately we grabbed him and
stopped the flames that had already started to burn his neck and chin.
i didn't realize until later that the other
person helping me was this boys father. heading back into thr chapel i
began frantically looking for my own
children. praise god that my kids were safe. all in all, five kids were
severely burned. about 6 other parents were
burned, including myself with second degee burns on my arms and hands.
these are nothing compared to the
children and the reason i'm writing is to ask you to pray for them.
their names are joseph, sarah, immaculate,
vinjeru and damalis. please pray especially for immaculate and damalis,
the first girl i tackled, as they were both
medivac to zimbabwe. the latest report was that damalis was given a 50
percent chance of survival. please pray
for their recovery, their families and their fellow students who watched
in horror. please also pray that god will
use this situation for his glory.

Peace to you, my friends, as I bring two pressing prayer requests for your
agreement as we seek our Father's mercy and power. The very important second
one follows as a fwd. below, but the first is a bit unusual. A fine18 year
old young man named Keith will go before a judge tomorrow, and his life's
future will largely hang in the balance based on justice being made possible
only by the divine intervention of our Lord. When this young man was 17 he
was driving to work one morning and an accident occured in which the other
driver was killed. To the best of my knowledge there was no speeding,
recklessness, nor alcohol involved. The young man is an A student who just
received a 4 year full scholarship to college from a major corporation. He
has never been a problem kid, no drugs or alcohol; those who know him speak
of him as one of those young people who seem almost too good to be true. He
has been so distraught over the death of the other driver that he has been in
counseling ever since the accident, unable to comprehend how it all happened,
as he believes in his heart he did nothing foolish or even questionable. He
himself does not understand how the accident occured. Unfortunately, there
were no witnesses and the other person involved is dead. As a result, this
young man has been charged with vehicular homicide and goes to court, now 18,
to find out if he can sufficiently explain as much as he knows to keep from
being punitively punished. His mother fears that if he is unjustly held
deliberately accountable that it will not only ruin his future, but destroy
his faith and break his heart. I would ask that you join me in prayer that
the truth will be all that holds sway in this court action, that Keith will
be found innocent of wrongdoing, if that is indeed the truth, and that his
future will be protected. I ask for prayer for his mother, and the family of
the man who dies, that peace and comfort fill all those involved completely,
and that the Lord prepares the heart of the judge and prosecutor and all
others who will have sway in this case, that this man may have only the
future God has planned for him, that he may serve God and grow in His truth.
Thank you for bearing with a longer than usual request, but this mother's
heart cry truly touched my soul. Thank you for standing with me on this.

Dear Friends:
Please pray for a close friend of our family. Her name is Michelle and she
is 16 years old. Last year she had a tumor and had it removed and an ovary.
Recently she went to the doctors and found out that she has couple of huge
tumors in her body. They are malignant( one is on her liver). There is a
high possibility that this cancer has been growing since last year. Because
of her age they were not looking for the type of cancer she has. The doctors
say the prognosis is not good. Unless God sees fit to heal her by a
miracle this child will not live. She is totally one hundred percent sold
out to Christ!! She is one of the most awesome teens I have had the
priviledge to know. Her mom is a single parent with no family other than
church family to help her during this time. Her name is Karen. Please send
this to as many people as possible. I know I have sent out a few requests
lately but none of what my requests even compare to the urgency of this one.
