Betreff: [RR] I Remember When
Hey Gang.
I remember when;
What about
1.
receiving in 1951 the gift of heaven in the form of CARE-parcels with that
beautiful yellow-orange cheese, milkpowder and chocolate and such items
right after WW2 in Germany.
2.
driving 1954 in winter in Germany with the first car from England, a Hillman
that actually had a heater .
3.
watching french occupational forces picking up their daily load of bread
from the civilian bakers still with horse-drawn wagon.
Racing like a whirlwind over cobble stone streets, you could hear them
coming from miles.
Yet it was a beautiful sight, seeing these four horses flying through town.
In southern Germany, Bavaria, 1950.
4.
All railroad traffic still going with steam in the late 50's.
The drive wheels of our fast 01-engine with a diameter of 2,2 meters.
Causing in the summer multiple brus fires by spewing burning coal.
Great memories, and lots more.
Enough material to palaver around a fire, what about it, Adrian, Duane and
other mountain men ?
