Windows 95
There is a bug in the File Manager and DOS Command Prompt that
incorrectly reports the years after 2000. FIx available from
www.microsoft.com/y2k

If you use MS Office 97 there is a Service Pack 2 available from
Microsoft. You must first check to see if Service PAck 1 is installed.
If not, it must be installed first. All of this is available
on the microsoft web site.

Windows NT 3.51
Upgrade to NT 4.0

Windows NT 4.0
Install Service Pack 5, again, available on the MS website

Hardware
there are dozens of little programs out that will test your hardware.
Make a bootable diskette and copy it there. Then boot your machine and
run the test. I can send one as an attachment if you want

Solaris X86
go to http://sunsolve.sun.com and get the y2k patch cluster and install
it as root.

Linux, IRIX, HP-UX, AIX, etc, patches availble from vendor. I was responsible
for this in my Group at work. If you have more than 1 system, expect to
put in some time. Also expect to spend a LONG time downloading.

You should have thought about this a long time ago. Now is really way
too late. You are going to have a few LONG nights ahead of you.

Or...................
You could have bought a Mac.......add on Virtual PC and you 've got the best
of both worlds and no Y2K bug. <VBG>
