This is Janet Hale, Frapper's wife in Splendora, Texas. I am a certified BSA
commander and am now helping my husband with Pioneers/TB. I write the Flat
Pan Jack adventure books and am a story teller from 'way back. A little
known story in the Bible that will thrill the boys is the story of Ehud and
Eglon. It is in Judges 3:15. Eglon was a very very very fat king of the
Moabites, God's enemies. The children of Israel were calling out once again
to God for deliverance. God raised up an assassin named Ehud, who built a
very special sword. Ehud was left handed and naturally placed his sword on
his right side. It is very clever how easily he got an audience with the
king, killed him and escaped without being suspected. I'm not going to tell
you the story because you need to look it up and find your own way to tell
it. It is a spell binding story. I call it The Fat Man and the Skinny Man.
You can come up with something visual to tell how big the blade was, and in
the text, the word "dirt" is used to describe his intestines and guts.
Things boys like. It is just a suggestion. My 2cents. Have a happy day.
Yet another way to explain the words, redemption, deliverance, and Saviour.
