Commanders,
One question: Where does the leaders manual say we are to sign
a form subjecting ourself to this stuff?
I would not have a problem with most of it but there are certian things
I would think twice about.
1.Deviations
Why would you need to talk over a deviation with the Sr. Commander?
I look at it like this. If you get a Word from the Lord and the Sr.
Commander tells you can't do it. Who is the Lord going to hold
acconatable? If the Lord is going to move. He is going to move with
or with out the Sr. Commanders permission.
2.Attend all sectional, divisional, and district events appropriate for
the group I lead. This includes being present for the entire event, not
arriving the following day or leaving early.
Who does this guy think he is? Does he not relize that we have orders
of business to take care of besides Royal Rangers 24 hours a day 7
days a week? What happens if you have a FCF campout and a sectional
event is that same that weekend?
3.Participate in all outpost fundraiser activities and promote these with
my boys
See 2.
If we are doing Rangers the way it was ment to be done. We should
all ready be doing most of these things anyways. I think if you were
to have a pledge of this nature, it should be rewrote. If you leave it
as it, you could be loseing more commanders then you are gaining.
This would most hard hit a small church or a church where getting men
to help is next to impossible.
