This is for those of you who have Home Depot stores in you area.

In case you did not know, Home Depot offers on the first Saturday of every
month from 10 am - 12 pm kids workshop classes.

We attended for the first time this past week.

The classes are FREE they provide (help if you want it), the child gets a
personalized carpenters apron with the HD logo, two brass pins referring to
the project worked on to wear on their apron, and of course everything needed
to complete the project, whatever it is. The projects usually take about an
hour to complete and refreshments are provided.

This Saturday the project was a bird house napkin holder (great Mother's Day
present, sure beats a macaroni picture and won't stress that ol' budget).
Basically it was two bird house fronts with a wood spacer between them. It
was a simple project but my kids 6-9 (most kids were from age 5 through 10)
were very proud of what they did.

Also I am sure this qualifies for the Craft Badge.

The HD people say they take up to six kids in a group without extra grownups
and up to 12 without making special arrangements (which they will do).

I showed the finished project to one of my moms and she was so happy that she
filled in her calendar on the first Saturdays for the entire year for me to
have her son.

Hope you can take advantage of this. If you don't have Home Depot in your
area, check with your local home improvement stores to see if they offer
something similar.

God Bless,
Chief Flaming Hair
