Dear Duane:Yup... it allmost makes me cry- or itch with HAY FEVER! <G>
You obviously love Gods creation as much as I do. some of my favorite passages of the Bible refers to the beauty of the earth like the Psalms and Romans 1:20.
In Wisconsin and the UP I experience the same scents and sometimes I can smell the earth right here in Woodstock Il. especially in the spring when the farmers that we have left are plowing their fields and in June when the harvest their first crop of hay or alfalfa. In August you can smell the corn ripen.
...Mostly in the Pac.Northwest you.. and everyone from the south would
be shocked at the smell of wet damp
musty mold<G> Their isn't anything built that's real old around
here. Only if a structure is heated or built of steel
can it stand up to the Northwest's famious rain...
That could be a negitive.. 'except it stays green and lush year 'round..
Spirng time requires REQUIRES! you
to mow every other day or so... I keep a 5 horse big wheel and sharp
the blade as it dulls from the heavy
task of just a half acre!
We have Cyote's in the neighborhood feeding on rodents and my neighbors cat collection.. We used to have a Goldie..
I repented from my backslidden ways in Northern Wisconsin at Moose Lake. I like to go to that part of the North Woods to hear the wolves howl. Last time there I had my dog Ralph with me, a great companion for camping. He is a classic Golden Retriever.
Sandy the Wonder Dog, the best dog on earth.. Loyal as a true Ranger.. one big "Booof!" at greeting and back to the
mat<G>
He was with me when I looked up at the stars in the sky and threw up my arms to the heavens and praised God. Amazing, what I said I later read in Psalms. It was there I recommitted my life to him I later attended a Pentecostal church and became a Ranger Leader. If a boy finds Gods awesome power and glory in His creation and the receives Christ one of my missions will be accomplished.Rangers should teach that very concept.. it's in the book, information is availible... *I guess Commanders just lack motivation
or have the job confused with something else.
I do like the desert, the south, and just about anyplace that shows Gods majesty. Even pictures of Outer space show Gods endless glory. I don' think I'll make that camping trip on Mars.
*-=A=- used to live on Mars! USS Mars afs-1 and the
"Ocean is a desert with the earth all around" or so I heard
from America<G> I got it bad for the sunshine though..
I think it feeds a chemical that depletes with gloomy weather.
Cold dark rainy forests are also a wonder... but one wrong step and
yur slideing down a wet log into a pool<G>
*Sploosh!

*I like that for the nostolgia.. and because it's simple. At NTC Nor Cal the nature Instructor from Nevada stood and recited every
plant common to the state of Nevada and it didn't take but a min or so<G>But when we crossed back into Oregon... about Cottage Grove and I-5 we
stoped and took a break. In a grove of Northwest trees, and a soft rain..
a "smell" hit my nose that touched a memory<G>There was a freshness to the air and the trees gave a "sent"...
You know the "grass is allways greener on the other side of the fence<G>"
