Dear John:
I only know Indain Lore by reading and trying some of their crafts and cooking but I beleive the American Indian named their people by what they were famous for, either a character trait, some great feat or by an incident in their life.
I don't mean to step across any territory of  Native American brothers and sisters in Christ.
At Public Buckskinners Rendezvous people are usually given their name by the participants. In FCF people often choose their name by carefully thinking out their traits.
I chose my name by what I do as a hobby, how my walk with the Lord has been and form a Bible verse that applies to me. I will not use this name officially until I go Buckskin.
Did you try asking your Straight Arrows what they want to call you and then guide them into choosing the right name for you? That may become your name in your outpost.
