All,
In praying for Rangers, I've said a few things that
really makes
sense. I'm trying to remember them as I type
this:
1. We must get out of the rut of Ministry vrs
Program.
If we are a program fine, but lets not call our
selfs a ministry.
Allow me to make a few points about a program.
Under a program Rangers
becomes more of a babying setting club then an out
reach for boys. The leaders
do nothing with the boys. The boys are not earing
merits or advancments and the boys
quit. Without new boys comeing in, your
outpost is up in smoke.
2. The youth vrs Rangers thing must
stop:
Are we not both reaching boys for Chirst? Likewise
if you want to run the whole Royal
Rangers, go for it. First of all get your pastor
and youth pastor behind Royal Rangers.
This means not only praying for them but inviting
them camping, ect. so they can get
a feel for Rangers. If they don't know what Rangers
is of course they are going to say
no.
3. Get the men and women of the church behind
Rangers.
Not only should we get the pastor and youth
pastor behind Rangers. We should get the
men and women of the church behind us. This does
not mean going up to them two
weeks before pow wow and asking them to help out.
If you want help, send out a sign
up sheet at the first of the year.
4. Switch your leaders around quartly or as needed
for a year so they can find
there strongest point/group. Just because so and so is the Trailblazers commander. Does
not
mean that is where
he should be put. Once there strongest group/point is found allow
them to take over that group or postion. I think overall, your boys and leaders will be
happier. I also think you will see a differance
in your outpost.
More to come.
Later,
