I have talked with them. They have an explanation, but it is not very satisfying. We have a sincere disagreement that no amount of explanation will solve. You see, they seem to believe that (1) the ends justify the means, and (2) that there is nothing wrong with hypocrisy. In particular, they think that it is OK to do something wrong if it convinces you not to do something wrong. I don't believe that. I don't believe Jesus believes that.
